Philanthropy - Ginn Field Project

The Philanthropy Committee organizes one project each year to give back to our community. Our current focus is the revitalization of the Ginn Field Playground which is one of the most popular areas for parents and children to convene. Past endeavors include raising funds for the Children's Room at our public library and raising over $100,000 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Ginn Playground Restoration Project Background: The restoration of the playground at Ginn Field is being spearheaded by the GINN Playground Restoration Committee, which represents a collaboration between the Winchester Neighbors Club (WNC) and a group of concerned Winchester parents. The playground was last renovated more than 20 years ago and has fallen into disrepair. In addition to having a safe, creative and state-of-the-art park for people of all ages, we want a central playground that best represents everything Winchester has to offer to residents and visitors. This volunteer-based project has received Board of Selectmen approval. The park will need to be completely privately funded. The estimated cost of a new park is $300,000. Our goal is to have Phase 1 completed in the Fall of 2010 and Phase 2 completed by the Fall of 2011. Please visit our website at www.beGINNagain.com or join our Facebook Group "BeGINN Again"
